Last minute Q fill in for Purrrrty Mouth who claimed he had to keep his kid and back out of Q'ing, we all know it was more of staying home to protect his Trump yard sign, banner and the big Trump Flag flying above his house. In case you didn't know Purrrty mouth lives next to one of the election poll locations in town. If you voted at the Armory you most likely couldn't miss the "Make America Great Again" playing over a loud speaker from Purrty's house as he broadcast live from the Book of Face. Enough on why Purrty stood Revolution up.
I knew this afternoon would be odd. Election Day and the first Revolution workout since the time changed. My first Revolution night workout since joining F3. Chainsaw and I were standing around waiting on everyone to show up and with 5 mins before go time it still look like it would be just me and Chainsaw. That's when Scout walked up smelling like bengay and what we thought was "Tater Tights" on but after further inspection we realized it was just knee wraps blending in with his shorts. Scout at the age of 53 was the second oldest to participate in the GoRuck event this past weekend so we will give him a few days to recover. (I would of had to take a week off)
Major T-Claps to all the Pax who completed the GoRuck this weekend. I thought about you guys often during that night. After my M and I stood and passed out bottles of water to you all on Gandy at about 12:30am, we walked back to the house trying to figure out what all we had just saw. Ropes, boards, buckets, ect... Not sure if my street will ever smell the same!
Seven of us showed up, this the lowest turnout for Revolution since I started in March. We will chalk it up to everyone going to Purrty's Election watch party and the time change throwing things off.
Warmup: Penningtons, Chopwood, and 2 mosey laps ending at the coupon pile.
The Thang: Clock workout. Variety of 12 exercises put in a large circle. Pax moved to each station for 1 minute before taking your cylinder and moving to the next station. Normally you can leave the cylinder at each station in this style workout but the lack of pax to fill up all 12 stations lead to taking your coupon with you. After round 1, a quick lap around park before Round 2. This round was 30 secs with everyone being pushed to do as many reps possible. Ended with another lap around park. Trying to work myself up to run the Turkey Trot since I've never entered any sort of race that involved running. I HATE RUNNING!
Ended with some quotes from former Presidents and prayer for the country as we move into this next phase in everyone's life.
“The greatness comes not when things go always good for you, but the greatness comes when you are really tested, when you take some knocks, some disappointments, when sadness comes; because only if you’ve been in the deepest valley can you ever know how magnificent it is to be on the highest mountain… Always give your best. Never get discouraged. Never be petty. Always remember: Others may hate you. But those who hate you don’t win, unless you hate them. And then, you destroy yourself.” – Richard Nixon
“I hope we once again have reminded people that man is not free unless government is limited. There’s a clear cause and effect here that is as neat and predictable as a law of physics: As government expands, liberty contracts.” – Ronald Reagan
“When one side only of a story is heard and often repeated, the human mind becomes impressed with it insensibly.” – George Washington
